Catholicos Mor Baselios Joseph I, head of the Malankara Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church, extended his prayerful wishes to Chief Minister-designate V.D. Satheesan.

He expressed hope that Mr. Satheesan would uphold the State’s highest democratic values and fulfil the trust and expectations placed on him by the people with responsibility and integrity. He prayed that God may enable him to provide visionary leadership rooted in secularism, social justice, and public welfare, while embracing the hearts of the people.

The Catholicos urged Mr. Satheesan to guide Kerala towards new horizons of progress and development while safeguarding constitutional values and leading all sections of society with love and care. He wished that under his leadership, Kerala may emerge as a shining example of justice, goodness, and public service.

K.V. Thomas, Kerala’s Special Representative in New Delhi, also extended heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Satheesan. As his former teacher, he said it was a proud moment to see his student rise to the leadership of Kerala. “I extend my best wishes to him for an excellent administration that prioritises public welfare and development,” he added.
