In view of the rising temperatures and prevailing heatwave conditions, the district health authorities have set up special air-conditioned beds in four government hospitals for the treatment of heatstroke patients.
District Coordinator of Hospital Services (DCHS) Dr. Narendra Singh, in a statement on Friday, said that dedicated airconditioned rooms, medicines, IV fluids and oxygen support has been arranged to provide prompt treatment to patients reporting symptoms of heatstroke.
A four-bed airconditioned ward has been established at the Aganampudi hospital, while two-bed AC rooms have been arranged at hospitals in Gopalapatnam, Bheemili and Pendurthi.
ORS corners and drinking water facilities have also been set up in hospital premises. Voluntary organisations have been urged to support hospitals by donating air-conditioners, coolers and water dispensers.
