Minister for Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare Satya Kumar Yadav on Tuesday (May 5, 2026) announced that outpatient services would be launched at the Piduguralla government medical college from May 20. The move is part of the efforts to facilitate MBBS admissions at the teaching hospital for the academic year 2026-27.
During a review meeting at the Secretariat, the Minister asked officials to focus on ensuring that all the requirements are in place to kickstart the admissions, in line with the National Medical Commission (NMC) norms. He also directed the officials to complete the recruitment of doctors and teaching staff by the end of this month, and suggested that the teaching staff be taken on a contract basis if needed.
