As part of the nationwide rollout of the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PMVBRY), the Employee’s Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) will organise outreach events in Visakhapatnam and Vizianagaram on June 19 to mark the release of incentive benefits to eligible employees and employers' under the scheme.
Addressing the media on Tuesday at the EPFO office Regional Provident Fund Commissioner-I, EPFO Regional Office, Visakhapatnam, Amardip Mishra said that PMVBRY, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 15, 2025, is a landmark employment-linked incentive scheme aimed at promoting large-scale formal employment and strengthening social security coverage across various sectors. The scheme is currently being implemented across the country and is expected to facilitate the creation of more than 3.5 crore jobs over a period of two years.
Mr. Mishra said that the Prime Minister has consented to preside over the national event for the release of incentives under PMVBRY at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi on June 19, 2026. To ensure wider outreach and maximise the impact of the flagship programme, parallel events linked to the main function will be held simultaneously across nearly 200 industrial clusters and state capitals throughout the country.
In Andhra Pradesh, EPFO Regional Office, Visakhapatnam, will organise an event at Sagarmala Convention Centre, Visakhapatnam Port Authority, on June 19. Simultaneously, EPFO District Office, Vizianagaram, will conduct a similar programme at the Conference Hall (Zilla Collector Vari Samavesapu Bhavanam), District Collectorate, Vizianagaram.
Mr. Mishra reviewed the preparatory arrangements for the events on Tuesday. He said that the programmes in Visakhapatnam and Vizianagaram are expected to witness the participation of senior government officials, representatives of industries, employers, employees and other stakeholders associated with the social security ecosystem.
