The police arrested three persons and seized 1.01 kg of suspected MDMA, a psychoactive drug, from Pantheerankavu in Kozhikode on Saturday (May 9).
The arrested have been identified as Mohammed Harshalal, 25, of Kurunthala in Malappuram, Aadil Sha, 20, of Ramanattukara in Kozhikode, and Mohammed Farhan, 22, of Aikkarappady in Malappuram.
They were taken into custody in a joint operation carried out by the District Anti-Narcotics Special Action Force and the Pantheerankavu police near Capkon City around 1 a.m. The Pantheerankavu police said the drug was seized from the car in which the accused were travelling.
In one of the largest narcotics seizures in Kerala in recent times, the anti-narcotics squad seized nearly three kg of suspected MDMA from Mukkam in Kozhikode last month.
