The Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi on Wednesday held a protest against the circular issued by the Central Board of Secondary Education on three-language formula in schools.
The CBSE had directed all affiliated schools to introduce a third language in Class 6 from the current academic year to comply with the emphasis given in the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCFSE-2023) for teaching two Indian languages in schools.
The VCK workers raised slogans against the move by CBSE. They said the circular was part of Central government’s efforts to impose Hindi in the country. VCK principal secretary, Puducherry unit Arima Thamizhan and party MP D. Ravikumar were among those participated in the protest held near Anna Salai.
