A 59-year-old special sub-inspector (SSI) of police, who was on election duty at a polling booth in Salem, died of cardiac arrest on Thursday (April 23, 2026) night.
Kannadasan (59), a resident of Olapadi near Pethanaickenpalayam, worked at the Malliyakarai police station. On polling day on Thursday, he was engaged in the monitoring of seven polling booths in Nagiyampatti.
