Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran’s crime-thriller Daayra will be released in theatres on September 18, the makers announced on Thursday (June 18, 2026). Directed by Meghna Gulzar, the film’s shoot was wrapped in December last year.

The makers made the announced by sharing a video containing BTS footage from the film’s shoot. Kareena and Prithviraj will be playing the role of a cop in it. From the BTS video, the film promises to be an intense crime-drama. The video ends with the quote, “Some lines are drawn. Some lines are crossed. A choice awaits.”

As per an earlier press release, “Daayra is a gripping investigative crime thriller that explores how a diabolical act can trigger equal and opposite reactions, fracturing opinions across society.”

Meghna has directed powerful films like Raazi, Talvar and Chhapaak. Her last, Sam Bahadur, was a war biopic starring Vicky Kaushal. Junglee Pictures, the banner behind Talvar and Raazi, is collaborating with Meghna again for Daayra.

Meanwhile, Kareena was last seen in Singham Again (2024). On the other hand, Prthviraj will be seen next inI, Nobody.
