A 37-year-old woman from Kalappanaickenpatti Pudur near Senthamangalam died on Wednesday after allegedly having been attacked by her husband. The deceased was identified as R. Sudha alias Veerammal, a day labourer. Her husband, Selvam (42), was a construction worker. According to police, Sudha returned to her parents’ house recently after a quarrel with Selvam, who suspected her of infidelity. On May 6, Selvam attacked her while she was going on a moped from her parents' house. Sudha sustained grievous injuries and was admitted to the government hospital, Namakkal, where she succumbed to her injuries on Wednesday. The Senthamangalam police registered a case and arrested Selvam, who was remanded.
