The Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) has expanded the city’s waterfront infrastructure by opening a newly developed public promenade near the International Cruise Terminal.
The facility was formally inaugurated by VPA chairperson M. Angamuthu, according to a release on Tuesday.
The promenade was designed as a pedestrian-friendly destination, and offers unique vantage points for visitors to observe harbour activities, including ship movements and port operations, against a scenic backdrop. The facility features a variety of amenities, including landscaped green spaces, viewing decks, a dedicated children’s play area, and a public plaza. The port has also incorporated a food court and a spacious parking zone within the complex to cater to visitors.
The VPA officials confirmed that the space will be accessible to the general public shortly. Visitors can reach the promenade via the access road located adjacent to the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple near the cruise terminal area.
