The Visakhapatnam Port Authority’s (VPA) Golden Jubilee Hospital has entered into a strategic partnership with HLL Lifecare Limited to establish AMRIT (Affordable Medicines and Reliable Implants for Treatment) pharmacies across its medical facilities.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was formalised on Tuesday in the presence of VPA Deputy Chairperson K. Roshni Aparanji.
Under the terms of the agreement, specialised pharmacies will be set up at the main Golden Jubilee Hospital, the Chinamushidiwada branch dispensary, and the port area dispensary located near the Administrative Office Building (AOB).
The initiative is designed to ensure port employees, retirees, and other beneficiaries have streamlined access to high-quality medicines, surgical implants, and laboratory reagents at significantly subsidised rates compared to market prices.
The exchange of the MoU was attended by Dr. S. Usha Devi, senior medical officers of the Golden Jubilee Hospital, and representatives from HLL Lifecare Limited.
Port officials noted that the integration of AMRIT pharmacies into the existing healthcare framework of the VPA would not only reduce the financial burden on patients but also ensure the availability of essential life-saving drugs and equipment within the port’s medical ecosystem.
