A 35-year-old man lost his life and seven others sustained serious injuries after a part of a building collapsed in Vikas Nagar, Gajuwaka on Sunday.
According to preliminary information from the New Port Police, the incident occurred when a group of workers was attempting to lift a house using hydraulic jacks. The work had reportedly begun around 8 a.m., and the building collapsed in the evening when the task was nearing completion.
