The Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) imposed a fine of ₹25,000 on a construction company on Sanjay Gandhi Street, under the Ambattur Zone, for failing to follow clean and safe construction guidelines.

Civic officials confirmed that the company violated prescribed safety and sanitation norms, and the penalty amount was successfully collected on May 22.

Earlier, the GCC had imposed a penalty of ₹1 lakh on a construction company operating in Adyar Zone for similar violations.

GCC authorities said the company failed to comply with the mandated safety and sanitation norms, and the penalty amount was collected on May 19.
