Nellore police have arrested a 44-year-old man who duped unemployed youth on pretext of providing jobs in Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) and recovered over ₹25.20 lakh cash collected by the accused from the victims.

Following a complaint by some of the duped persons, two special teams – one each from Central Crime Station (CCS) and Vedayapalem Police Station – were formed for investigation of this case under the supervision of Superintendent of Police Dr. Ajitha Vejendla, Additional SP (Admin) Ch. Soujanya, town SDPO & ASP Deeksha.

The two teams identified the accused through technical evidence and special surveillance. The accused was identified as Shaik Hussain, who previously resided in Podalakur Road in Nellore Town and pretended to be working in the medical field, along with his brother-in-law.

Accustomed to a lavish life, he targeted unemployed youth to earn easy money. He had been collecting a total of ₹48 lakh from about 15 victims from Nellore town and surrounding areas for the past one year, promising to provide jobs to them in the TTD Board.

Based on the complaint given by the duped victims, a case was registered at the Vedayapalem Police Station under the relevant sections of cheating and forgery. During investigation, ₹25.20 lakh was seized from him so far.
