The Kempegowda International Airport police have registered an FIR against a 63-year-old passenger from Kerala for allegedly sexually harassing a 24-year-old cabin crew on a flight from Bahrain to Bengaluru.
Based on the complaint filed by the victim after landing at the airport, the police booked the accused, identified as Jacob Alexander, charging him under section 75(2) (sexual harassment) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.
The incident occurred on May 4, at around 8.15 p.m. on board flight GF-280, which landed at Terminal 2. The woman complainant stated that while she was seated (seat no. 18C), the accused touched her inappropriately by moving his hand from under his blanket towards her. She said she immediately objected and warned him. The accused later reportedly claimed that the contact was “friendly” and denied any misconduct.
Following the flight’s arrival at the airport, the woman lodged a formal complaint with the police. Based on her statement, a case has been registered against the accused, and legal action is being initiated. Further investigation is under way.
