Hours after Vijay’s Jana Nayaganreportedlygot leaked online in High Definition (HD), celebrities from across film industries slammed piracy and came in support of the movie’s production house, KVN Productions. Billed as Vijay’s final film before he fully shifts focus to his political career, Jana Nayagan is directed by H Vinoth.

The clips from the leaked version were shared widely on social media platforms even as some posts were later taken down. Jana Nayagan has been delayed due to dispute over its censor certification, preventing its planned Pongal 2026 release.

Jana Nayagaan being leaked on the internet has caused shock and pain,” Superstar Rajinikanth said on X (Twitter). “Film associations must raise their voice against this, and the government must identify those responsible and impose severe punishment,” he added.

Reacting to the incident, Kamal Haasan pointed fingers at the delay in censor certificate of Jana Nayagan for the piracy of the movie. “The leak of Jana Nayagan is not an accident - it is the result of systemic failure. Had due process been timely, we would not be here. Inordinate delays in certification created fertile ground for piracy. When legal access is stalled, illegitimate channels take over,” he wrote.
