PMK leader Anbumani Ramadoss said on Saturday that Tamil Nadu has been witnessing an anti-incumbency wave. It will be reflected on polling day, he said.

Speaking to mediapersons at Arunachaleswar temple here as part of the election campaign for NDA candidates in eight Assembly constituencies in the district, Mr. Anbumani said that the anti-incumbency factor could be gauged from the massive support for the AIADMK-led NDA among women.
“The Chief Minister should come to realise that Assembly polls will be between DMK and the AIADMK-led alliance,” he said.

The Rajya Sabha MP said that party functionaries of the DMK do not have confidence in their party president Mr. Stalin and achievements during their reign, since 2021, to canvass votes during the election campaign. Instead, partymen were advertising a free coupon worth ₹8,000 that would be distributed to eligible PDS cardholders after elections. “Such an election campaign by DMK partymen reflects that they cannot seek votes in the name of the party leader, achievements of DMK rule, and the Dravidian model of governance,” he said.
When asked about the fact that the Vijay-starrer Jana Nayagan, was leaked online in high definition, Mr. Anbumani said that the timing of the leak of looked suspicious. . The leak of the film could benefit only the victim in the polls. “As polling day is nearing, the police should allow party candidates and leaders [Mr. Vijay] for election campaigns by taking adequate safety measures. Police cannot deny permission by citing law and order problems for such an election campaign,” he said.
Later, Mr. Anbumani campaigned for NDA candidates in the district.
