With large-scale tree-felling proposed for multiple highway and road expansion works, the Forest Department has set a deadline till May 7 before 5.30 p.m. for the public to file objections, offering only a limited window for citizens to raise concerns over the proposal.
The move follows a request from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), Mysuru, seeking clearance to remove trees obstructing key road projects across the region. In response, the office of the Regional Forest Officer has initiated steps to receive public objections by placing a grievance box at the Aranya Bhavan in Ashokapuram, while also allowing submissions via email and post.
