The Chamarajanagar police have arrested four persons accused of committing thefts in different temples in the district and recovered gold ornaments, a silver idol, and cash from them.
Superintendent of Police M. Muthuraj constituted a special team to trace the accused after one Prabhuswamy lodged a complaint at the Yelandur Police Station alleging that unidentified thieves had broken open the lock of Sri Chamundeshwari Temple at Ambale village on December 4, 2025, and stole a silver idol of the deity of Naga, gold necklaces and cash amounting to about ₹70,000.
