The Water Resources Department is focusing on completing the long-pending gap works in the Right Main Canal (RMC) of the Polavaram irrigation project by June-July 2026.

According to sources, these works pertain to small, scattered stretches, ranging between 50 to 60 metres, which were left incomplete due to various constraints by the original executing agencies during 2015–16, resulting in discontinuities along the canal.
