A 24-year-old man was arrested by the Kukatpally police for his involvement in the illicit trafficking and sale of ganja near Balanagar Metro Station.
The accused, identified as Madaraboyina Sai Kumar, was arrested while he was attempting to sell the contraband in an empty area near metro pillar 863.
During the operation, the police seized approximately 907 grams of the banned substance along with a mobile phone from his possession. Preliminary probe revealed that the accused had procured the contraband from an individual named Purnachandra in Odisha and intended to sell it at a higher price to his acquaintances, identified as Sai Krishna and Takku.
Police said the accused was intercepted before the sale could be completed. A case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered, and he has been remanded to judicial custody.
Further investigation is underway.
