A total of 4,225 employees and 657 employers/establishments in the jurisdiction of Employees Provident Fund Organisation, Tiruchi Region, will benefit under the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rojgar Yojana (PM-VBRY).
The PM-VBRY is an employment-linked incentive scheme of the Centre aimed at promoting formal employment, supporting first-time entrants into the organised workforce, and incentivise employers to create additional jobs.
Under the scheme, eligible first-time employees receive one month’s wage, up to ₹15,000, while employers are provided incentives for a period of two years for generating additional employment. The manufacturing sector is eligible for extended support for an additional two years, thereby encouraging sustained job creation in labour-intensive industries.
In Tiruchi region, about ₹2.28 crore is to be disbursed as incentives to employers. The 657 employers/establishments will get assistance to the tune of ₹31.43 crore on June 19, 2026, according to press release from the Employees Provident Fund Organisation, Tiruchi Regional Office.
A regional level event to mark the disbursement of incentives was held at the National Institute of Technology campus on Friday, another release from the EPFO said.
