Handloom and Textiles, BC and EWS Welfare Minister S. Savitha on Thursday said that the NDA government in the State was committed to fostering stable governance, development and extending welfare schemes to the people.

Addressing the meeting convened on Thursday to mark two years of the NDA government, she called upon the public judge the alliance government in the subsequent elections based on its performance.

“The people, party cadre as well as employees are expressing delight with the performance of the government not only in terms of double-engine development, but also in extending schemes like Thalliki Vandanam, Deepam-2, Stree Shakti, Anna canteens, free sand and enhanced social security pensions,” she said.

Citing Gujarat as an example, she said, continuance of a single party in power ensures sustained development and continuity of projects and schemes.

She criticised former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy for failing to implement the poll promises made ahead of 2019 polls. “I also challenge him to an open debate on the development of Kadapa district, which he claims to be his home turf, during his and our regimes,” the Minister said.

Government whip C. Adinarayana Reddy shared how his Jammalamadugu constituency has emerged as a destination for cultural/adventure tourism and renewable energy projects.

Proddatur MLA N. Varadarajulu Reddy explained how development became possible with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s farsighted policies, while Kamalapuram MLA Putha Krishna Chaitanya Reddy equated NDA to ‘confidence and credibility’. Mydukur MLA Putta Sudhakar Yadav highlighted improvements in water supply, and health infrastructure in rural areas.

District, Collector Sridhar Cherukuri said that the investment flow of ₹1.07 lakh crore is expected to generate significant employment. Superintendent of Police Nachiket Vishwanath Shelke said that crime rates, especially cybercrime, had declined following a series of measures implemented.
