Property tax collections in municipal bodies outside the core capital region of Telangana have recorded a 15.11% increase under the 5% rebate offered through the early bird scheme, generating ₹47.95 crore this month, according to Commissioner and Director of Municipal Administration T.K. Sreedevi.

In a statement issued on Thursday, she said cumulative collections for April stood at ₹252 crore, compared to ₹204.5 crore collected during the same period last year, against a total demand of ₹1,667.75 crore. She attributed the increase to wide publicity for the scheme, close monitoring at multiple administrative levels, and regular alerts sent to taxpayers encouraging timely payments.
