The Chairperson of the BC Dedicated Commission, retired IAS officer Rajiv Ranjan Mishra, visited the district on Thursday (April 30, 2026) to study reservations for Backward Classes (BCs) in rural and urban local bodies and to receive representations from stakeholders.

As part of the visit, the Commission held a meeting at the Collectorate with District Collector M. Abhishikth Kishore, Additional Director of the BC Welfare Department Chandrasekhar, leaders of various BC communities, and representatives of associations.
