Kuvempu University presented an honorary doctorate to socialist leader and former legislator Konandur Lingappa at his residence in Shivamogga on Friday.
Minister for School Education Madhu Bangarappa, who is also minister in-charge of Shivamogga district, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sharath Ananthamurthy, Zilla Panchayat CEO N. Hemanth, who is also registrar of the university, felicitated Mr. Lingappa and presented the certificate of Doctor of Letters to Mr. Lingappa.
On the occasion, Mr. Bangarappa interacted with Mr. Lingappa and expressed his happiness that a senior socialist and sincere legislator was chosen for the honorary degree. He also spoke to him about certain changes he intended to bring in school education.
