An autorickshaw driver was killed and 3 women passengers were injured when the vehicle overturned. Police said autorickshaw driver Ibrahim, 60, of Kadayanallur was taking 3 women passengers from Kadayanallur to Tenkasi on Sunday afternoon. When he was crossing Kuththukkalvalasai, a stray dog suddenly crossed the road. As Ibrahim tried to stop the autorickshaw from hitting the animal, he lost control of the vehicle that capsized on the road to injure the women passengers and the driver, who were taken to the Tenkasi Government Hospital.

Since Ibrahim had sustained grievous bleeding injury, he was referred to the Tirunelveli Medical College Hospital, where he died on Monday. Tenkasi police have registered a case.
