In yet another disappointment for Chennai Metro Rail commuters, the phase II stretch from Koyambedu to Chennai Trade Centre, which was slated for opening in June this year, has suffered delays and is likely to be launched only in August.
Extending for a total of 118.9-km, the ₹63,246-crore phase II project will touch various corners of the city with three corridors—Madhavaram to SIPCOT (corridor 3), Poonamallee to Light House (corridor 4), and Madhavaram to Sholinganallur (corridor 5).
