A second-year ophthalmology diploma student ended his life in the hostel on Monday.
According to police, R. Moses Sam Nelson, 19, of Arockiyanathapuram on Palayamkottai outskirts, a second-year student of a diploma course being offered by a private eye hospital here, reportedly ended his life in the students’ hostel on Monday.
After other students alerted the hospital authorities, police rushed to the spot and sent the body to Tirunelveli Medical College Hospital for a post-mortem.
Suspecting foulplay in the death of his son, the victim’s father M. Ramesh submitted a petition with District Collector R. Sukumar. He sought comprehensive inquiry into the ‘suspicious death’ of his son.
