A sharp rise in prices of food items in restaurants and eateries has severely hit tourists and pilgrims visiting Tiruchi and neighbouring districts.
The places of worship, mainly Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple in Srirangam, Sri Akilandeswari Temple in Thiruvanaikoil and Sri Mariamman Temple in Samayapuram, have been receiving a large number of travellers since the closure of schools and colleges for annual vacation.
