The Regional Resource Centre for Folk Performing Arts (RRC), managed by the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), in Udupi has in its collection rare documentations pertaining to Yakshagana. Such documentations will be uploaded to YouTube soon to make them available to all, Pro-Chancellor of MAHE H.S. Ballal said on Sunday.
Speaking at a function organised by the Karnataka Yakshagana Academy in Udupi to present its annual awards for 2025, Dr. Ballal said that the documentations at RRC are in the forms of audio, photo, video, and slide. They are not only related to Yakshagana but other folk performing arts as well. Presently, researchers have access to them. When they are uploaded to YouTube, all those who are interested in folk performing arts will get benefited.
Dr. Ballal released two books, including Sheni Bharatha, published by the academy on the occasion.
