Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) State general secretary P.M.A. Salam said the slogans raised during a march held in Thodupuzha in the name of the Muslim League to congratulate Chief Minister-designate V.D. Satheesan were not in keeping with the dignity and traditions of the IUML, and that the party rejected such tendencies.
In a statement issued here on Thursday (May 14, 2026), Mr. Salam said IUML State president Syed Sadikali Shihab Thangal had earlier instructed party workers that celebratory demonstrations should not cross limits. “The party will not accept anyone acting against that directive, regardless of who they are,” he said.
Mr. Salam added that stringent action would be taken after identifying those who participated in the march.
Meanwhile, the Kerala State Muslim Youth League has suspended the Idukki district committee of the Muslim Youth League.
