MGM Seven Hills Hospital has launched a multi-disciplinary transplant programme aimed at providing advanced organ transplant and quaternary care services to patients from Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and Chhattisgarh. The initiative was announced during the medical conclave, ‘Precision & Pulse: Vision 2026’, organised in collaboration with the Visakhapatnam chapter of the Indian Medical Association (IMA).
According to the hospital management, the programme brings together specialists in heart, lung, liver, intestinal, kidney and bone marrow transplantation under a single platform. The transplant team includes experts in cardiac sciences, hepatobiliary surgery, transplant oncology, nephrology and paediatric haematology and oncology.
Addressing the conclave, Cluster Chief Operating Officer S.B. Pathmanaban said the hospital was working towards establishing itself as a quaternary care hub for the three States. He said the availability of specialised transplant services in Visakhapatnam would reduce the need for patients to travel to metropolitan cities for treatment.
Hospital officials stressed the importance of early medical evaluation for patients with chronic illnesses, noting that timely intervention could improve treatment outcomes and help prevent irreversible organ damage. They said advances in transplant medicine had made it possible to effectively treat or manage several conditions that were once considered terminal.
