Launching a joint operation, the Dharwad and Haveri police have cracked burglary cases with the arrest of two inter-State burglars. They have recovered stolen valuables, a vehicle used for the crime, collectively valued at around ₹ 1.15 crore.

Superintendent of Police of Dharwad Gunjan Arya has said that with the arrest of the inter-state burglars, two major theft cases, one reported at Kiresur village under Hubballi Rural Police limits last month and the other a gold shop burglary reported two days ago under Hangal Police Station in Haveri district, have been cracked.

He has given the names of arrested men as Shivaraj Hanamantappa Modaker of Balehosur village in Laxmeshwar taluk of Gadag district and Ashok alias Ramesh Shivappa Konchikoravar of Ambamath in Sindhanur taluk of Raichur district.

In all, 310 grams of gold ornaments, 26 kg of silver ornaments and a multi-utility vehicle stolen from Telangana have been recovered by the police.

The operation was conducted under the guidance of r. Gunjan Arya and Haveri Superintendent of Police Yashoda Vantagodi.

The investigation was led by Cyber Crime Police Station Deputy Superintendent of Police Shivanand Katagi and Dharwad Rural Sub-Division Deputy Superintendent of Police Vinod Muktedar.

The team included Hubballi Rural Police Inspector Murugesh Channannavar, Navalgund Circle Police Inspector Ravi Kappattanavar, Hangal Circle Police Inspector Basavaraj Halabannavar, Hubballi Rural Sub-Inspector Imran Pathan, Sub-Inspector Sampath and several police personnel and technical staff members from Dharwad and Haveri districts.
