The Telangana Medical Council (TGMC) has unmasked an alleged fake doctor working in the Critical Care Department of a private hospital in Siddipet during an inspection conducted based on confidential information.

During the inspection conducted on Wednesday at Lalitha Bhavani Hospital in Shivaji Nagar, Siddipet, the TGMC team found that J. Ajay Kumar had allegedly been treating patients in the hospital’s Critical Care Department for the past one year despite having no recognised medical qualifications.

The Council alleged that Kumar falsely projected himself as a critical care specialist and claimed to possess qualifications - including MBBS, DEM and EECM. The TGMC further found that forged certificates had allegedly been created and used to claim that he had completed MBBS degree from NTR Health University and had undergone critical care training at various corporate hospitals.

The Council also raised concerns over the role of the hospital management and a doctor identified as Dr Rajeshwar, MD General Physician. According to a release, they allegedly defended the presence of the accused despite being aware that he was not a qualified doctor, stating that patient admissions were conducted under their supervision and that he worked according to their instructions. The accused has been handed over to the police for further legal action.
