The Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) has decided to commence water rationing from May 4, supplying water on alternate days across the city in view of the drastic drop in the water level at the Thumbe Vented Dam across Netravathi.
It is essential to resort to rationing to ensure that water would be available till the end of summer as inflow to the dam has completely stopped, said MCC Commissioner Ravi Chandra Nayak in a statement here.
