Prasanthi Nilayam in Puttaparthi observed ‘Mathrusri Eswaramma Day’ on Wednesday amid devotional and service programmes commemorating the mother of Sri Sathya Sai Baba.
The celebration commenced with special prayers and bhajans at Eswaramma’s samadhi, where Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust managing trustee R.J. Rathnakar, along with his wife, Himavahini Rathnakar, offered floral tributes. Officials, family members, and devotees attended the programme. ‘Prasadam’ was distributed to the gathering.
Meanwhile, large number of students took part in the bhajans at Sai Kulwant Hall. As part of service activities, 60 sewing machines were distributed to the trainees of a free tailoring programme, aimed at supporting self-employment among women groups. The programme concluded with ‘Mangala Harati’ reflecting the message ‘Love All, Serve All.’ The event was organised by the Sri Sathya Sai Seva organisations of Andhra Pradesh.
