The Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India, has identified 350 beneficiaries in Tiruppur district under the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rojgar Yojana (PM-VBRY)
The beneficiaries were among 600 participants who also include 100 employers, representatives of industry associations, public representatives, senior State government officials, and officials of Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO).
Employers distributed job recruitment orders to 35 appointees at the regional-level programme conducted at Tiruppur by EPFO in the presence of District Collector Manish Narnaware.
Reflecting upon the PM-VBRY scheme, an employer said it enabled employees to gain confidence at the very outset in the formal sector. An employee said the scheme was helpful as the working class could look for financial support in exigent situations beyond monthly salary.
According to EPFO officials, there were 15 lakh beneficiaries under the scheme across the country, and that such regional programmes were conducted at 200 locations. The scheme, officials added, reiterated the commitment of the Central Government to stand with young people beginning their professional journey and encouraged institutions that create new employment opportunities.
Since August 2025, PM-VBRY brought over 70 lakh first-time employees into the formal workforce, with incentives supporting employment for more than 15 lakh beneficiaries, the officials added.
