The Hyderabad Traffic Police have announced extensive traffic restrictions and diversions across several parts of the Old City on Friday, June 26, in view of the Bibi-ka-Alam procession on the 10th day of Muharram.

The restrictions will be in force between 12 noon and 10 p.m. along the procession route, which passes through key areas including Dabeerpura, Yakutpura, Etebar Chowk, Charminar, Purani Haveli, Miralam Mandi and Nayapool.

According to the advisory, vehicles will not be allowed towards Bibi-ka-Alawa from Sunargalli T-junction and will be diverted towards Dabeerpura Darwaza and Ganga Nagar Nala. Similar diversions will be enforced at Shaik Faiz Kaman, Etebar Chowk, Purani Haveli, Moghalpura, Gulzar House, Kotla Alija, Charminar and Nayapool depending on the movement of the procession.

Traffic from Chaderghat Rotary, Salar Jung Museum, Shivaji Bridge, Noorkhan Bazar, Gowliguda and Afzalgunj will also face restrictions at different stages of the procession, with motorists being diverted through alternative routes.

The police said vehicular movement towards Charminar from Nayapool would be restricted when the procession reaches the monument, while traffic from Shakkerkote towards Gulzar House would be diverted via Ghansi Bazaar or Chelapura.

In addition, TGSRTC district buses will be diverted through Rang Mahal and Afzalgunj between 10 a.m. and 9 p.m. and will not be permitted on the Kalikabar and Miralam Mandi stretch until the procession concludes.

The traffic police have advised commuters travelling through the Old City to plan their journeys in advance, use alternative routes and expect delays in and around Charminar, Yakutpura, Dabeerpura, Purani Haveli, Nayapool and adjoining areas during the procession.

Citizens can get traffic updates through Hyderabad Traffic Police social media platforms or contact the traffic helpline for assistance during the restrictions.
