With the NEET (UG) 2026 re-examination and Yoga Day Celebrations scheduled for Sunday (June 21), Hyderabad Traffic Police assured candidates that special arrangements had been made to facilitate their movement.

Amid concerns over traffic congestion due to multiple events scheduled in the city, police have also imposed restrictions around examination centres.

“We understand the importance of the NEET examination and the need to ensure smooth travel for students appearing for the exam. Traffic management plans for all major events, including International Yoga Day celebrations and other public programmes, are prepared with due consideration to public convenience and emergency requirements,” Hyderabad Traffic Police said.

Officials said that necessary traffic regulation measures, diversions and deployment of personnel would be in place to facilitate the movement of NEET aspirants and the general public. Candidates have been advised to start early and follow traffic advisories issued through official police channels.

Across the State, district police units have invoked Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) around examination centres and intensified surveillance measures.

In Nalgonda district, where seven examination centres have been established, police have deployed personnel at all venues and strengthened CCTV monitoring, patrolling and security checks.

Candidates have been advised to report well before the deadline, with officials stating that no candidate would be allowed entry after 1.30 p.m.

In Medak district, the prohibitory orders will remain in force from 10 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. around the Government Degree College examination centre.

Siddipet Police Commissioner Rashmi Perumal has imposed similar restrictions within a 500-metre radius of the Government Girls High School and Government Degree College examination centres.

Police officers, military personnel on duty, authorised examination staff and flying squad officials have been exempted from the restrictions. Officials said the measures were aimed at ensuring a fair, transparent and disturbance-free examination environment for candidates across Telangana.
