The Telangana State Human Rights Commission (TGSHRC) has taken note of complaints against private schools allegedly collecting substantial portions of fees in advance for the academic year 2026-27, and has recommended action against institutions engaging in such practices.
The Commission, in an order dated April 28, was hearing a complaint filed by a resident of Boduppal in Medchal Malkajgiri district, who alleged that a private school had collected 50% of the annual fee in March, months before the commencement of the academic session. The complaint also raised concerns over schools demanding advance payments for books and uniforms, often without offering parents a choice of vendors.
