The Village Administrative Officers’ Association placed a set of demands to the new TVK-led government. Revival of the old pension scheme and constituting a welfare board for government employees were among the demands.
Association president R. Arulraj said the government should also consider their demand for regularisation of services of employees, who have been receiving a honorarium or consolidated pay or daily wages over five years.
The association thanked Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay for increasing the Dearness Allowance by 2%. At the same time it sought the release of payments due to employees under the Seventh Finance Commission pending for over 21 months now.
