Need for expansion

Limits of Ramanathapuram municipality have not been expanded for over four decades despite its upgradation from first-grade to special-grade status. The lack of expansion has resulted in civic and administrative difficulties for residents in the rapidly growing areas.

Municipal Administration and Water Supply Department should expedite the implementation of G.O. dated December 31, 2024, and take steps to expand the municipal limits to meet the needs of the growing population.

Upgrade campus infrastructure

Ramanathapuram Government Medical College has been functioning for over four years, yet its campus remains largely barren, with little greenery or shade for patients, visitors, students and staff. Immediate steps should be taken to plant trees and develop the campus into a green zone.

The approach road in front of the college is also narrow and requires widening to ensure smooth traffic flow and pedestrian safety.

The District Administration should take urgent measures to improve the campus environment and infrastructure.
