Ramanathapuram police have registered a case against 12 members of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam party who engaged in a ruckus on the road while getting drenched in the rain in Ramanathapuram on Tuesday.
Police said, Udayakumar, 39, A. Karthik, 26, Aadheeswaran, 33, Jayakarthik, 24, from Manjana Mariamman Temple Street; V. Gautham, 36, K. Gautham, 25, Karthik, 32, Gavaskar, 28, Hemanathan, 35, from Kotthar Street; Prashanth,26, from V.O.C. Nagar; and Sethu, 26, and Shiva, 28, from Moolam Kothalam—were involved in the ruckus.
On Tuesday afternoon, they engaged in a ruckus by hanging from car doors and rooftops while whistling and getting drenched in the rain in areas, including Ramanathapuram New Bus Stand and the District Collectorate complex.
The Kenikarai police registered a case against all the 12 individuals and arrested them. They were later released on station bail.
