Amalapuram Member of Parliament G.M. Harish Balayogi participated in the study tour of the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) on ‘One Nation, One Election’ to Bengaluru and had extensive interactions with senior Karnataka government officials and representatives from various institutions, including BEL, BEML, BHEL, KIOCL, ITI Limited and IIM.
In a social media post, Mr. Harish stated that the discussions covered the administrative, institutional and governance dimensions linked to simultaneous elections from multiple perspectives.
The JPC held detailed consultations with political parties and regional stakeholders from Karnataka, including Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, who presented the Congress party’s position, while senior leaders and representatives from the Bharatiya Janata Party, Janata Dal (Secular), Aam Aadmi Party and others also shared their views with the members of the panel.
“It is encouraging to witness such diverse viewpoints come together through a constructive democratic dialogue on an issue of such national importance,” Mr. Harish Balayogi noted.
