The Southern Railway’s Palakkad Railway Division launched the World Environment Day Drive 2026 across the division on Friday. The campaign, to be observed from May 15 to June 5, aims to promote environmental awareness and sustainable practices among railway employees and the public.
Divisional Railway Manager Madhukar Roat administered the environmental pledge and unveiled thematic posters at the divisional office in Palakkad. Chief Project Manager, Gati Shakti, S. Jayakrishnan and other officials participated in the event.
Railway stations, hospitals, workshops, depots and other railway establishments across the division marked the inaugural observance with environment pledges and awareness activities.
The division said rallies, poster displays, pamphlet distribution, public announcements and digital awareness campaigns would be conducted as part of the drive. Cleanliness campaigns and green initiatives will continue till June 5.
