Those who cannot go to stadiums to watch IPL matches will now have an opportunity in Hubballi to experience stadium-like experience as the BCCI will be setting up IPL Fan Park in Hubballi on Saturday and Sunday.

In a joint press conference in Hubballi on Friday, senior manager of BCCI Sumeet Mallapurkar and KSDCA Dharwad zone convenor Altaf Kittur said that the Tata IPL Fan Park will be set up at the BDK Grounds in Santosh Nagar of Hubballi.

They said that along with enjoying live cricket telecast on huge screens, visitors will have an opportunity to listen to live music, enjoy variety of food, kids play zones, face painting and virtual batting.

Elaborating on the initiatives, Mr. Sumeet said that it is part of the project to take cricket fever to more regions.

“The matches will be telecast on huge LED screens accompanied by huge speakers. Watching live cricket amid cheering by cricket lovers will be almost like watching a cricket match in a stadium,” he said.

Visitors will also have a chance to win attractive prizes in lucky dip. The gates will be opened at 1.30 p.m. during afternoon matches and at 4 p.m. during evening matches. And, entry will be free on first come first served basis.

Along with Hubballi, similar IPL Fan Parks are being set up in Mysuru and Mangaluru annually and this year, Belagavi and Shivamogga have been added to the list. The organisers are expecting a footfall of around 10 lakh during the two days.
