Mirroring its recent success in local body polls, the United Democratic Front (UDF) achieved a clean sweep across all five constituencies in the Assembly elections in Idukki district. In all seats, UDF candidates secured victory with significant margins.
The Congress party returned to power in the Devikulam and Peerumade constituencies after a 20-year hiatus. In Udumbanchola, a UDF member was elected after a 25-year gap. After years without an MLA in the district, the Congress party now holds four seats: Idukki, Peerumade, Devikulam, and Udumbanchola.
