M.S. Madhavikutty assumed office as the District Collector of Kozhikode on Monday (May 25).
Speaking after taking charge, Ms. Madhavikutty said that top priority would be given to resolving the issues faced by vulnerable and marginalised sections of society.
“The administration will place special emphasis on projects ensuring the welfare and safety of women, children, transgender persons, and senior citizens. Priority will also be given to monsoon preparedness measures, National Highway development, waste management, and projects under the Chief Minister’s special focus,” she said.
The District Collector said Kozhikode had a rich legacy of distinguished administrators. Ms. Madhavikutty said she would follow the exemplary administrative style of former District Collectors and work towards the comprehensive development of the district by adopting the best governance practices and projects implemented by them.
A native of Kollam, Ms. Madhavikutty is a 2018-batch Kerala cadre Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer. She was transferred to Kozhikode while serving as the District Collector of Palakkad. She previously served as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Kerala; Executive Director of the Health department; Director of the Centre for Continuing Education, Kerala; and CEO of Cyberpark. She also held positions as Assistant Collector of Ernakulam, Sub-Collector of Thiruvananthapuram, and District Development Commissioner (DDC) of Kozhikode. She won the State government’s award for the best Sub-Collector.
Ms. Madhavikutty completed her studies at TKM College of Engineering, Kollam, and also holds a postgraduate degree in Public Management.
