DMK cadre put up black flags on their houses, and DMK leaders burnt copies of the Delimitation Bill following a call by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin to protest against the Delimitation Bill that was tabled in Parliament on Thursday (April 16). Copies of the Bill were burnt at different locations in the city, including Singanallur and Venkitapuram. Mr. Stalin had said that the Delimitation Bill aimed at reducing the State’s representation in Parliament and that if the Bill was passed, the Centre would not listen to Tamil Nadu.
